Legendary actress Waheeda Rehman's handprints were captured Monday at the South Africa India Film and Television Awards (SAIFTA) event and she said that she felt honoured.

Ayushmann develops six-pack abs for YRF movie

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana reveals he has developed a six-pack for his new film under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner. He plays a squash player in the movie.

The "Vicky Donor" star has flaunted the perfect abs on the cover of Men's Health magazine's latest issue.

"This (the abs) is of course, for my next film Yash Raj Films project with Sonam Kapoor. I have some body shots in the film. I play a squash player, so that was the need of the character," the 28-year-old said here at the launch of the magazine cover.

The six-pack mania became popular in Bollywood courtesy actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh.

Ayushmann believes everyone builds abs for one reason or the other.

"I think nobody builds or tries to build abs without any reason. It's quite difficult, it's not easy. It is for a particular character," he said.

Ayushmann believes being fit definitely contributes to a person's confidence, irrespective of the profession he is in.

"I was very skinny as a kid and I was not as confident as I am right now. I was just another kid in the class and it was an all boys school, so I never used to crave for attention."

"...It's not just about being in the industry. Anybody, be it a journalist or a cameraperson, if that person is fit, naturally that person will be confident," he added.

Ayushmann's debut film "Vicky Donor" recently fetched him the best debut award at the recently held International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA).

He is currently shooting for the new YRF project, while the shoot of "Hamara Bajaj" is delayed and it is expected to start only next year.

Live your Bollywood dream with YRF's fashion line

If you're one of those who watched a Bollywood actress scorch the silver screen in that "oh-so-gorgeous" sari or that "amazing" dress - this one's for you! Film production major Yash Raj Films (YRF) is launching a Bollywood inspired fashion label - Diva'ni.

The tag line of the brand, which is said to be infused with the spirit of Bollywood amalgamated with a glamour quotient, reads: "Where fashion romances Bollywood".

YRF, which has set several fashion trends across its over four decade-old existence through films like "Lamhe", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Dil To Pagal Hai", "Mohabbatein", "Bunty Aur Babli" and "Band Baaja Baaraat", has tied up with ethnic wear brand Karol Bagh Saree House (KBSH) for the new label.

The collection will be a reflection of how late filmmaker Yash Chopra, who founded YRF, envisioned his heroines and brought out the best in every woman he worked with.

"YRF has been looking to participate in a meaningful way in the apparel category, in order to bring the trends of Bollywood and YRF closer to the consumers. As an industry, we have been setting fashion trends for our fans worldwide over the last 100 years," Rohit Sobti, YRF’s vice president (Licensing and Merchandising), said in a statement.

The first collection under the label will be a tribute to Yash Chopra, who in many ways helped define Bollywood fashion.

"In a country like India where women of all age groups are so highly inspired by Indian cinema, we strive to give our audiences a brand that will bring them a step closer to living their Bollywood dream," said Sanya Dhir, brand director, KBSH.

"The design team behind Diva’ni strives to create ensembles that celebrate the emotion in motion, offering the customer an experience to be as stylish and feel as beautiful as a Diva," Dhir added.

Other details about the brand and the collection are likely to be announced soon.

Raj Mandir is said to have opened its doors in the 1970s.

The decision to launch the film's trailer there is part of a unique promotional strategy by the movie's production banner, Yash Raj Films (YRF).

"The launch will be held on Thursday, July 11. Sushant and Parineeti, who've just returned from Macau, will be present at the event," said a source.

SRK confirms surrogate baby, names him ABRAM

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan Tuesday confirmed for the first time the premature birth of his and his wife Gauri Khan's surrogate baby boy, who has been named AbRam.

Shah Rukh, 47, made the news official about his surrogate baby via a statement.

"Amidst all the noise that has been going around, the sweetest is the one made by our newborn baby, AbRam. He was born prematurely by several months, but has finally come home," said Shah Rukh.

"Gauri and our whole family have been dealing with his health issues for a long time now," he added.

Explaining his longstanding silence on the matter, he said: "As a family, our silence on this subject has been because of the personal nature of emotional strife that we have been going through due to his health."

The superstar, also called the 'baadshah' of Bollywood, also put the record straight that "there was no sex determination for our child".

"The baby was born much before the speculations of 'sex determination' and other 'issues' pertaining to the same were being raised in the media by some organisations. Suffice to say his coming home puts to rest completely false and at times insensitive claims of sex determination and alleged illegalities," he added.

On his part, the actor-producer has also apologised to "all those other doctors and hospitals who had to face unwanted scrutiny and questioning by some parties", and he has thanked the doctor concerned, Jatin Shah, for his expertise and contribution to make the surrogacy successful.

"We also wish to thank all the other doctors, nurses and medical staff who have made his life possible," added Shah Rukh, who also said the entire surrogacy process is bound by "strict confidentiality".

He has appealed to all "to allow us to cherish this private moment as a family".

Shah Rukh, who began his tryst with showbiz through the small screen in 1988, married Gauri in 1991. They have two children together - son Aryan,16, and daughter Suhana, 13.

'It's the most exciting time for the film industry'

As Indian cinema celebrates its century, director Nikhil Advani says this is the most exciting time for filmmakers as they are experimenting and getting creative freedom thanks to flexible audiences.

Earlier, filmmakers were apprehensive about trying out new themes because audiences were inflexible, but today's movie buffs are open to new subjects spelling a boom time for creative minds.

"I would not change from where I am for Rs.100 crore (movies). It's the most exciting time for the industry," said the 42-year-old who started as an assistant director in Sudhir Mishra's "Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin" (1996).

"I have been in the industry for 20 years and in the 20 years, everyday I used to think there will be a day when people will start understanding what we want to do, and the cinema will change. But we forgot that audiences have always accepted great and different films. The last two and a half years have only proved that.

"The kind of films that have been made only proves that every time you give something different to the audiences, they will accept it with open arms."

The box-office successes of women-centric thriller "Kahaani", dark comedy "Peepli Live" and sperm-donation-based comedy "Vicky Donor" have proved that viewers are accepting change.

"I am very happy that the studios are today going to the directors who they wouldn't even look at in normal circumstances. It's the best time to make films.

"I want to thank the audiences and say that the more you accept it, the more we will give you different stuff, the more we will keep thinking differently and boldly," Advani added.

Advani's first full-fledged film as a director was Shah Rukh Khan-Priety Zinta-Saif Ali Khan-starrer hit "Kal Ho Naa Ho" (2003). After that he went behind the camera for "Salaam-e-Ishq", "Chandni Chowk To China" and "Patiala House", but they couldn't replicate the success of "Kal Ho.."

He however hit the bull's eye with his animation film "Delhi Safari", which won a National Award.

The filmmaker also feels today's youth "is asking for a difference, whether it's difference in politics, leadership, music, fashion or cinema".

He admits that the demography of people looking for different films is lower than the masses sticking to certain subjects. "That's why you will always have a 'Rowdy Rathore' or 'Bodyguard' or 'Dabangg' still working (at the box office).

"But the niche audience has grown over the past few years and that's very gratifying and helps filmmakers like us to make something different."

Over the years, the definition of romance has also changed.

"In 2003, when I made 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', the generation then believed that at the end of the day Shah Rukh will give up the love of his life for Saif... but today's generation is not like that, they will simply not accept it."

His next is "D Day", a film on cross-border terrorism, in which a bunch of RAW agents is assigned to bring a terrorist back to India from Pakistan. The film, starring Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan, Arjun Rampal, Shurti Haasan and Huma Qureshi, is coming out July 19.

"I am making another romantic comedy next year. But it's the kind of romantic film that I think this generation would identify. So it's not going to be in the same space of 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', but it will be a romantic film," he added.

Hrithik got head injury during 'Bang Bang' shoot: Rakesh Roshan

A head injury during the shoot of "Bang Bang" in Phuket is what landed Hrithik Roshan at the Hinduja hospital, says his father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.

The 39-year-old underwent a successful brain surgery at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital Sunday afternoon.

Rakesh Roshan told reporters: "He was shooting for 'Bang Bang' in Phuket, Bangkok. He was doing a stunt where he had to put a jet on his feet and go 30 feet high in the sky and then dive down in the water."

"So when he rehearsed, he fell the wrong way and banged his head a bit, which he didn't realise. That started his pain and he started taking pain killers, thinking it will get fine in three to four days because something similar had happened during 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' also."

The pain subsided, but only to return a month later.

"Hrithik finished shooting in the next eight days and he came to Mumbai. The headache was still there, so we had a CT scan done but nothing showed in it. Then he was on medication. So the pain decreased, but it started increasing gradually in the past four weeks," said the senior Roshan who has just finished shooting "Krrish 3" with his star son.

It was on the night of July 5, a day before he was scheduled to fly to Prague, the Czech Republic, for the next schedule of "Bang Bang", that Hrithik complained of severe pain.

"Friday night (July 5) he told my wife (Pinki) that 'I am not comfortable and something is wrong inside'. So we took another CT scan and MRI. On Saturday morning (July 7) we got them done and then we were told there is a blood clot," said Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik was diagnosed with chronic subdural haematoma and was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital July 7 evening, and next day he was operated upon.

Being directed by Siddharth Anand, "Bang Bang" stars Katrina Kaif opposite Hrithik. The film is expected to feature some brilliant stunt sequences and is being shot across Europe.  The shoot of the third schedule of the movie has been moved forward for Hrithik.

Farhan Akhtar to host mini marathon in four cities

Filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar will give a chance to his fans to run along with him in a mini marathon he will organise ahead of the release of his movie "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag".

The 3km-5km marathon will be hosted in four cities - Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

Releasing July 12, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" will see Farhan as athlete Milkha Singh. The biopic is a co-production between Mehra and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

The actor went through rigorous physical training in order to get the perfect body like that of an athlete and fans are eager to watch the actor run live.

"Ever since the promotions started, everyone has been asking Farhan about the practice that went into playing the role of Milkha Singh. That's why the makers have decided to give the audiences a chance to watch him run a marathon and participate with him," a source said.

"Many school and college students will be running with Farhan. They were selected via contests held by the makers recently," the source added.

Reality of Ranbir-Katrina's Relationship

It was in the news that actor Ranbir Kapoor was dating Katrina Kaif. When rumors were doing their round, we suddenly heard Ranbir getting back to his ex love Deepika Padukone. It was also rumored that the actor got attached to his ex love during the shooting of ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’.

Well the fact is that even Ranbir was deeply saddened by these rumors as he is going steady with Katrina. Even Ranbir’s parents have approved the cute couple. It is said that the rumors had an agenda of promoting the movie.

It was also said that Katrina Kaif was reportedly upset with Ranbir as he did not spend time with her. On the birthday party of Arjun Kapoor, the actress though came with Ranbir but left early in a fit of anger. Later Ranbir went to meet her at her residence.

“The timing of these rumours is suspect; there’s an agenda here. Ranbir has no interest in Deepika, romantically. He is very upset with these rumours of their proximity. As for these rumours of RK smooching Deepika at a party, please ask those present what the real story is, and you will find out that Ranbir was a perfect gentleman. He is very committed to his relationship and isn’t going to be dragged into something just to ‘promote’ an image.” an insider said.

He added, “Everyone knows Ranbir and Kat have been together for two years now.  And they have the blessings of their families.”

For the 41st birthday of Karan Johar, Ranbir and Katrina came together in a car. Ayan Mukerji, director of ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ was also in the same car but he chose a front seat. Ranbir and Katrina are appearing in public together. It seems the two are no more shy about their relationship.

Recently Ranbir and Katrina took a break from their work and they both had a vacation together. It tells a lot about the seriousness of their relationship. Both of them went to UK and were spotted in a London restaurant dining together. During their visit, even their mothers joined them one evening for dinner.
Ranbir and Katrina did two movies together. In 2009 they appeared together in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’. They both looked cute onscreen. Then they again appeared together in 2010 released movie ‘Rajneeti’. Here both appeared in mature looks and thoroughly impressed the audiences.
